October 2011

Race Car Control finishes 2nd in points in TeX275.

The RCC Camaro grabbed 3 wins out of 7 races.  Qualifying #1 at 6 of the 7 races and held both the E.T. and MPH records from the first race and nailing in the books at the final race putting up a 5.15 @ 143 MPH.

"Even though we wanted to finish 1st in points, we were very happy with our success the first year out on the radials and first year using the RCC Progressive Control Module." - Trevor

Randy Van Raden puts Fire in the Hole,
and can we say Finally...

Randy ordered his system back in January before the car was anywhere near ready and nine months later gets her fired up.  His build has been three years in the making and with just a short list to go will begin testing soon.

We will have more updates as they come.

RCC Progressive Nitrous Control

Race Car Control has a new module in
the testing phase. We will soon be releasing
a Progressive Nitrous Control Module.

The new module will interface with a
separate progressive box and be able to
write the progressive map during a run.

With the module you will no longer need
a laptop to change the progressive map
and will be able to make last minute
changes in the lanes. The module can
also be unitized for wheelie control and
other related RCC controller features.

Here is a video from our first test session.
First pass on the progressive yielded
excellent results. Left nice and smooth
and went right down the track.

Stay tuned as we will have more info.
as we continue to test the module.

Put an end to these...

...by adding Wheelie Control to
your Race Car Control System.

Our Wheelie Control option
starts at $400 for a single stage
and $600 for dual stage.

Our Wheelie Control works off the
front ride height and can be
programmed to retard timing,
dump boost, or interrupt a nitrous
stage or any other power adder.

The two stage option has separate
trigger heights.  Use the first to try
and slow the wheelie down and
the second to bring it down.

The Wheelie Control option will
be custom designed for your
specific combination.

Trevor qualified #1 on a hot and slippery Texas summer track and was three tenths faster than the next qualified car.

Trevor gave credit to his RCC Progressive and Timing control modules for enabling him to get the car to perform so well on the hot Texas summer track.

Race Car Control's products have helped put Trevor's Camaro in the finals 5 of 7 races and in the winner's circle 4 times
so far this season.  The performance of the Camaro continues to prove the advantages of a custom tailored
Race Car Control system.

RCC Timing Control Module

RCC has released a timing control module that will interface any of their controllers to the MSD® 7531.  The module will allow you to program time based timing ramps and/or steps and will build a custom timing map for you.  The timing map of ramps and steps is controlled by the RCC controller and is totally independent of the MSD® 7531 hardwired step retards.  The timing map can be up to 5 seconds long, programmed down to a tenth of a degree and a combination of up to 5 ramps and/or 4 steps allowing you to take full control of the launch as well as down track performance.

June 2011

Strych9 Racing puts the Race Car Control
Camaro in the winner's circle once again...

...as well as qualifying #1 at the TeX275
race at Red Line Raceway in Dallas, TX. It
was hot and greasy and a good test for the
new Progressive Control Module. First pass
was a little too much for the track. They
dialed it back and proceeded to lay down a
string of 5.27s, a 5.25 in the semis and a
record tying 5.22 @ 140 MPH in the finals.

"We were very pleased with the ET, MPH
and consistency we were able to run with
the new progressive module considering the
track was hot and DA around 3500 feet."

Congratulations go out to Trevor and team
for the win and successful test of our soon
to be released Progressive Control Module.

new Dallas Texas TeX275 class.

WHAT CAN IT DO?

- Time up to six outputs to the hundredth of a second 0.01

- Signal a shift light or automatic shifter at a set RPM with a tire spin delay

- Control electric or pneumatic shocks

- Control up to six nitrous stages

- Control timing retard signals to your MSD

- Control nitrous bottle pressure

- Automatically purge nitrous bottles

- Retard timing at shift points

- High speed timing retards

- Auto emergency engine shutdown

- Transbrake lockout/reset to prevent transbrake engagement after launching

- Auto start pumps and fans when engine is running and  stop when engine is off

- System ready status light

- Low and high RPM cut out control

- Deploy parachute from wheel button or by timer

- Blip nitrous kit to get engine up on the converter

- Ignition delay on start to get motor spinning

- Eliminate extra wiring and relays

- Compatible with most electrical systems with an operating range from 10.8 to 26.4 volts.

- Save weight

- Save money

One of the many things this controller can do, is it can do the same job as six digiset timer relays. The RCC controller is tiny, measuring 4.72" x 3.74" and only weighs 9 oz's. The RCC timer controller can replace six digiset relays for a fraction of the cost. Six digiset relays that can time down to the hundredth of a second will set you back $600 dollars. The basic RCC controller weighs less, and is only a little wider than one digiset. Not only can it time six outputs down to the level of one hundredth of a second (0.01), it can be programmed to start, stop, or restart the timers. Again, it can be what you need it to be.

Many others have controllers that can do this, or can do that. This controller can do what you want it to do. Most of all it can do what you need it to do.  The RCC controller will be tailored to meet your race car needs.

Another example of the things it can do is, it can be connected to your tach wire and can monitor your engine rpms. If you have the controller configured to turn on your nitrous system, you can set a low and high rpm shutoff to protect your engine, also known as a window switch.

March 2011

Strych9 Racing does it again
with back to back wins.

Taking the win at the TXDRL in
Tuff Street at Houston Motorsports
Park in Houston.

The controllers:

The base controller has eight on/off inputs and six on/off outputs. RCC can program the internal logic to do whatever you want the outputs to do in relation to the inputs or any combination of the inputs. The premium controller has 20 on/off inputs and 16 on/off outputs for more advanced applications.  The units we use are industrial grade programmable logic controllers that have been in use in industrial and manufacturing plants for decades.  They can operate from 10.8 to 26.4 volts.  The controllers we use are the Direct Logic models 05 and 06 and are manufactured by Koyo.

Both the base and premium controllers have option slots. The base having one and the premium having four. The option slots allow you to add more on/off inputs, multiple high speed inputs, analog (or numeric such as pressure or temperature) inputs , network and serial communications and other devices such as touch screens.

Available Options:

- LCD Display (Model 06)

- External touch screens

- Additional on/off inputs and outputs

- Additional analog inputs and outputs

- Thermocouple or RTD input cards

- High speed counting processor

- Ethernet communication card
